Read on to know more –

Jaslin, what inspired you to become a makeup artist?

My career started off with me training to be a fashion designer but I always had an inclination towards makeup. I would go about my day suggesting different beauty products to my friends and family. Eventually, my friends pushed me towards makeup professionally and I decided to get some training and dive into the fashion world as a makeup artist. Since then I have been interning at various firms, doing makeup for models and fashion shows. I was recently engaged in the Jaipur Couture Week and did the show’s toppers makeup for Ashna Vaswani’s Show.

What are some common beauty mistakes that women make?

I think most women choose the wrong powder for baking. After contouring the best product to be used is some transparent powder to make your makeup long lasting. Using opaque powders gives the makeup a cakey look and makes your makeup bleed faster.

What products do you think should be a staple in every woman’s purse?

For me, a mascara, a lip gloss or a lip balm, a blush on, a small contouring kit and a multipurpose brush for both the blush and the contour.

What beauty regime do you think every girl should follow?

I think its very important to follow your pre-makeup daily routine. Never miss out on your sunscreens, masks, daily elixirs or night creams. I prefer clay masks over chemical based formulas. I personally use clay masks from Enn, which are completely organic and are good for your skin.

Jaslin works as a freelancer at the F-Salon.
