Bollywood Actress Sridevi passed away on the 24th of February in Dubai, where she was there to attend nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding. The actress had reportedly suffered from a cardiac arrest at 11pm on Saturday which led to her sudden demise.
Sridevi started her career in acting at the age of four and has worked in films in Tamil, Telegu, Malyalam, Kannada and Hindi languages. The versatile actress was known for being one of the few heroines who could lead the movie to a success without needing a hero counterpart.
Over the course of five decades, she has worked in over 150 movies including Chandni bazaar, Mr India, Chaalbaaz and Sadma. She was the recipient of the Padma Shree award-the fourth highest civilian award.
The actress took a 15 year break from the film industry a year after her marriage and made her comeback appearance in 2012 in the highly acclaimed movie ‘English Vinglish‘, last year we saw the actress act in a revenge drama ‘Mom‘.
Her death has left India in a deep shock, she was truly a gem.
