When CBSE Book Describes A Perfect Figure!

You know body shaming has reached peculiar heights when a CBSE prescribed book advocates ‘the perfect figure ratio’! Don’t believe us? See for yourself!

Only a few days ago, a twitter user tweeted the image of a page from a CBSE curriculum physical education book that said that the ideal body size ratio of the female figure should be the much-celebrated 36-24-36!  And that it is hence the bar in the world of fashion as well. Not just that it also said that ‘V’ shape is the ideal figure for men as well! This tweet has taken the internet on storm as we are compelled to think that how are we supposed to overcome this body shaming narrow-minded stereotype when our own education authorities try to fix it upon the young malleable minds. Where on the one side whole of the feminist world and humanitarians are encouraging the idea of embracing our bodies and overcoming narrow stereotypes, a book which happens to be the ‘source of learning in schools’ makes the whole base of it crumble down! This book titled, the Health and Physical Education Textbook by Dr. VK Sharma is taught to CBSE students of Class 12th, who are the ones on the threshold of a new and real world, and while many of the films and glamour world does not leave much to flame their inferiority complexes, we can only imagine what an uplift it would be when such things are conveyed by the curriculums as well.
