Gone are the days when Jaipur was an underdeveloped capital, of an understated state. But today Jaipur stands tall as an efficient developing city.  Though Rajasthan is not blessed with natural resources in abundance, but the main source of growth in revenues and business in the last few years has come out to be tourism, which is globally popular. Total GDP of Jaipur is 24 Billion USD or 139200 Crore Rs.

Jaipur is ranked 135th among most developed city according to GDP in world.

In the recent past, developments in Jaipur, such as World Trade Park, and well-connected roadways and highways are major landmarks in the expansion of this city. Rajasthan saw 1.53 million foreign tourists visiting the state last year. On the foreign tourist front, it managed to hold on to its position, 5th, among the top ten.

 

Apart from the tourists’ point of view, the city of Jaipur has grown in its educational sector too. The city has become a hub for engineering and medical aspirants, and also gives wings to the dreams of students seeking an education, in fields like mass communication and literature, which were not much talked of in the past 10 years. There are various universities in the city catering to higher education.

Another important aspect adding to the development of Jaipur is its entrepreneurial ventures. Jaipur is often referred to as the hub of start-ups, as the rate of entrepreneurs is growing by each day. Start-ups like Hippocabs, Chaisa, and Urbandhobi have come up and made a mark for themselves in recent years.

Jaipur is being recognised globally for its manufactured products such as those of blue pottery, and Jaipuri blankets. Apart from these, various ethnic accessories and clothes are being accepted worldwide by people.

Thus, Jaipur has surely created its niche in the world. Though small now, but it has carved a niche globally and adding to the city’s charm
