Women Protection in Rajasthan – Aparajita Programme ensures women safety

With the Women’s International Day fast approaching, Team Where India Connects wants to connect to all the ladies out there and do some social awakening. Even though this operation has been under the dark from some time, Aparajita – the women protection programme started by Raje’s government has been doing some wonders. Aparajita center One Stop Crisis Management Centre for Women (OSCMCW) was inaugurated  on August 30, 2013 in Jaipuriya Govt. Hospital, Jaipur.

The objective of this center is to provide police, medical, consulting services and temporary housing facilities through a single window to the victims of domestic violence or harassment.This is a  coordinated effort of the  departments of  Women and Child Development, Medical and Health Department, Home Department, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, State Legal Services Authority, the district administration and NGOs.

The records of  harassed women are kept at the center and the follow-up actions are taken and monthly progress report are submitted to the Principal secretary. Celebrating the amazing success of operation Aparajita, the state is committed to create 15 new centers in each district, mainly Ajmer, Karauli, Chittorgarh, Jalore, Bhilwara, Tonk, Bikaner, Baran, Pali, Jhunjhunu, Jaisalmer, Rajsamand, Dholpur, Hanumangarh and Pratapgarh. With these centers, the government aims to identify crime against women and to make them self-sufficient.

 

So far the Jaipur based center has provided relief to over 2500 women and has provided shelter to around 400 women. These facilities are available 24*7 and you can feel free to contact them at-0141-2553763/2553764
